The owner of Hanley’s Pasties has moved to Bristol and refurbished Steam-Bristol (the old Roo Bar next to Clifton Down Station). Kevin Hanley started selling his hand layered and crimped pasties in Cornwall in 1994. So famous for his product in his hometown of Penzance that he’s known by locals simply as The Pastyman.
Later he opened Hanley’s first store in Oxford’s covered market which was the first Cornish Pasty store outside Cornwall. Since then his pasties have been sold all over the world to customers who have included Prime Ministers, Presidents, top rugby players and stars of the music scene including members of Supergrass, The Bluetones, the late Amy Winehouse and Glastonbury’s Michael Eavis.
